Love this
Everybody loves the Nutbush dance
Lovely to see again!
Amazing. Wish I was there.
WOW ! THAT WAS AWESOME GUYS!! CONGRATS!!! Tears of joy here watching that.
Aw thanks Marta 😍 What a shame you weren't in the routine this year - we missed you!
Awww 🥰 thank you 🤩, I’ve always wanted to do the super girl move!
Love it! I did Ceroc dancing here in Chicago ~ 20 years ago . The best social activity I ever did. Sadly the talented but a bit eccentric dance teacher stop teaching the class - Americans since World War II and the short Disco dance revival in the 1970s, we aren't good dancers and male/female relations have severely suffered. American male female relations IMO have never been worse. I'd love to invest my time and money in getting Ceroc restarted here in metro Chicago. Can anyone help?
Hi and thank you for your comments! You could reach out to Ceroc Enterprises in London - they have many international locations so would be the best people to talk to - their website is www.ceroc.com Good luck 🙂
@@CerocDanceSydney Thanks will do. I just wish there were existing CEROC dance businesses, studios here in the USA - it seemed like that was starting to happen ~ 20 years ago. I'm kind of ashamed how m fellow Americans have such poor social skills like partner dancing, saying a few words in a foreign language , identifying countries or even continents before we bomb them :-)
Went hiking in Nepal with some Australians. I had no idea about this song, but it came on in a bar and they were suddenly possessed... like they'd been summoned to the dance floor. It was one of the most memorable bits of the trip 😂
Love this 😍
Ceroc is great, and it's fabulous to both be able to move together, but it's the same moves over and over and over again, a tad monotonous. There should be at least six different set routines?? I really don't want to do the same moves on the floor as other couples ...
Thanks for your comment. There are hundreds of Ceroc moves and lots of creativity and variations so do come and see us for some lessons if you're ever in Sydney 🙂
Not as good as WCS
My favorite Tina Turner song!
It's kind of sad most people in America never heard of this dance. And the whole world loved Tina.
As a pom doing the year gap thing in Sydney they all started doing the "Nut Bush" in the night club!!
RIP Tina. ❤ Mind blown that today I’m only realising this is an Australian thing! Before today, I thought it was global??!!! Every time the song is played, just have the need to get up and do the dance (with roller skates on) Thank you Tina for the song that paved way for an iconic party dance.
Yes Ren it is fascinating to us too that it's apparently an Australian thing!
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Tina Turner R I P..
RIP Tina Turner ❤️
Love my Aussies, ❤❤❤
Well I thought that was fantastic
I’m American and I just stumbled across this 😂
Brilliant 🕺💃
Great to see you Kat ,
Looks like so much fun. 🎉
It absolutely is as much fun as it looks Cynthia 🙂
This… is amazing. As an American from St. Louis, where TT got her start, I’m stunned I never knew about this Australian phenomenon.
This dance is very popular at weddings. We love tina
Every disco, every school dance, every party when this song comes on we all do this dance!! R.I.P Tina Turner in Gods Care 🙏🏻
I’m an Aussie that only found out today that it’s not global. My mind is blown! This is a total classic dance that was massive in the 80’s. Even taught it at school.
💋💋💋💋🥰There’s The Big Red Bash at Birdsville 🇦🇺every year where they continue 👍to break the world record 🥰of people doing 🫶this line dance.🤗This is the most remote 🫶music festival in the world 🌎 and raises funds for the 🇦🇺Royal Flying Doctors in Australia.💃Tina,s iconic song 💃is a crowd favourite.👍So far their up 🤞to 4000 people,💃but this year they’re 💃doing something special.💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶💋💋💋💋💋💋🇦🇺💋💋
Everyone young and old knows it.
The best time I've ever had doing this dance was at a wedding where the DJ made it slightly faster every verse and by the end it was me in stiletto heels and two guys as the only people remaining doing it at quadruple the speed. So much fun!
yep thats how it used to get played in Oz
Still is 😂
This is brilliant 😂
None of the figures actually finished off , lady just spin spin spin , dancing by numbers actually out of time .
Hi Kevin, in the short few seconds these couples are given in the spotlight, to a song they do not know to prepare for, it's not even possible to finish these figures you have mentioned. For some of them, especially the beginners who are in this video, it is their first time in front of an audience. We encourage you to attend your local Modern Jive class to learn about the timing of our wonderful dance and to experience the joy of the inclusive and encouraging environment enjoyed by many people across the world.
@@CerocDanceSydney I’ve attended 3 so called ceroc social dances and it’s just pure unorganised rabble. Music was boom boom boom and nothing the dancers could follow a beat too because it was played through virtual dj programme on laptop and speeded up to 146bpm. Every gent or leader as we now call them has only 1 routine they just dance over & over . I asked the dancers if the improvise into anything else routine wise they said no and 98% of them didn’t even know the names of the figures they were trying to dance. The ladies or followers were no different . All this is because Ceroc is a brand name and it’s dancing content is an amalgamation of east west coast swing with modern jive figures thrown in . None of figures are finished off properly by even the so called advanced dancers . I fell the reason is because it’s essentially taught by unlicensed teachers without even an associate qualification never mind licenciate or fellowship qualification . It’s nothing more than an over 40’s singles or hopefully meet someone’s event. There were in the 3 I attended 5 ladies or followers with twisted wrists and 1 with a bruised shoulder , which is easily done when inexperienced . I guess that’s why their insurance is so high . One organiser of a social event had 4 claimants in the last year and it will get worse. No sorry it’s pure unorganised rubbish and nothing to enjoy in a safe environment unless it’s taught properly . However dancing should be for everyone with everyone’s own choice of what they dance …but please teach it with fully qualified teachers in a safe environment as your teaching and choreography training days will have taught you. . I will look into it further and teach it in my classes but only with completed figures that both partners understand fully what they’re dancing and that starts by telling them the name of the figure they’re dancing and so on until a sensible routine is acquired that each individual dancer can dance or improvise upon themselves safely . Not as I was told , I go here so she goes there ,he goes there so I go here etc pure rubbish without alignments . So please let’s keep whatever dancing it is safe and enjoyable for every dancer and professional teacher . Each organiser and so called teacher I spoke too at the events I attended had nothing , just signed to a franchise booked a hall and off they went not even the figures they were so called teaching themselves . Sorry but I’m old school taught properly and hold many qualifications and championship titles through my dancing years and I love to se people dancing but properly and safely . East/west coast swing , Lindy hop , rock n roll , modern jive , shim sham , all beautiful dancing figures to enjoy perfected by dancers over generations as is ballroom and Latin and Argentine etc etc I could go on I’m passionate about any dancing as long as it’s sensible and safe unlike your so called ceroc dancing .
ceroc and roll
loved it
fantastic
Nice move, nicely demonstrated. But I'm surprised it's classed as a Beginner move. Here in the UK it's taught as an Intermediate move, as far as I know.
Hi Terry, good to hear from you from the UK :) Yes the Pretzel has always been a beginner move over here in Australia - albeit one of the more challenging ones!
@@CerocDanceSydney yes, the Pretzel isn't as easy as it looks. You could say the Pretzel is not a piece of cake 🤣😂
Limmy did it better
They make the dance look easy but it isn’t
Weekly planet podcast brought me here 🤣
I have never been to a wedding where this doesn’t get played sometime during the night.
Did this in the 70s, taught my kids, just taught my granddaughter.
WHY only 2:47?! My audiences were always required to endure the extended version. Followed up with Bus Stop, Time Warp and others! My mantra: Go hard or go home!!
Ah Peter if only you could have seen beyond 2.47 not included on the video :)
@@CerocDanceSydney Well, spill the beans...
So.... this is true down there huh? 😂😂😂 damn. You can tell how young a nation is by its dances tbh 😂😂😂 Please dont get offended i find it so great and enjoyful
That's right America You grew up with cotton eye Joe *we grew up with the nutbush*
Good fun, especially in the background @2:36. PERFECT timing!!!!
watching this again today me cry when Julie jumped up and down again about being together again
I had to watch it again now too Joanne 💜 Julie 🙂
Not gonna lie but that lady in the front in the tight dress can get it 😂
And the girl in white trousers front left
I remember doing this at school back in the 90's
Lol! Great song, but so random to make a dance to🤣🤣
Good wedding dance.
Is this lead?! Or even jive?
Hi Cathy - this is Ceroc, so a form of Modern Jive, not your typical traditional Rock n Roll or Ballroom style Jive. This was a lead/follow spotlight final but would have certainly had an element of planned sequences. The competitors were given a random selection of songs so definitely lead/follow elements required.
Unbelivable!
Very smooth indeed.
